Clara's final Montessori days
Clara, just three days shy of completing kindergarten, ending her days at the Montessori Center, and moving on to elementary school, enjoyed a rite of passage this morning, the kindergarten brunch. She and her classmates, along with a few brave teachers, trekked to East Side Cafe, one of our favorite restaurants. Reports from kids and teachers alike say all went well. Clara even came home with change from her $10 and leftover French toast.
With the last day of kindergarten nearing, I'm excited for her and also saddened. It seemed like she just enrolled in the school, and now look at her. She'll soon be off to first grade. Tears will abound on Wednesday when she leaves our own taste of Mr. Rogers' Neighbordhood: the Montessori Center.

wrapping up the activities
clara has one week of school left, which means this month has brought the end of soccer and ballet. (thank goodness.) one recent saturday morning, we flew from clara's last soccer game to her ballet recital. clara loves nothing more than changing uniforms and costumes and for people to watch her perform in her costumes, so it was her idea of a perfect day.
